Lyrical Inspiration #1 – Eric Church

24 Jun

Well, thats a little misleading.  I’ve been inspired by music all my life.  Just now I’m deciding to put that inspiration down on paper.

I’m terrible at journaling and adding sentiments to my cards.  I am constantly on the look-out for the next title/quote/journal prompt books.  (By the way, these are some of my favorites: Words to the Rescue and Inspiration Station)  Surfing Two Peas one day, I came across some great layouts made by Caroline Ikeji.  All of her creations speak to me, but especially this one, which features a lyric from Jimmy Eat World’s “A Praise Chorus”.  Thats genius!  I know I have heard of this concept before, but I haven’t seen any projects using lyrics executed quite like Caroline’s.  We all have songs that remind of us a certain time, whether we know it or not, so why not look to them for your next page quote or card sentiment?

Here is my first attempt.  (Card inspiration found here at Deirdre’s blog)

Patterned paper from Basic Grey’s “Nook & Pantry” collection, baker’s twine from House of Three, old flowers from Making Memories.

I may or may not be the easiest person to love all of the time…

Eric Church’s “You Make It Look So Easy”

p.s.  I bought my first Copics today…now I just need to figure out how to use them…anyone know of any good tutorials?

EEp! Copics! (And no, I did not buy them to match my sticky notes...I just noticed their similarities now)
